Polly is a chartered statistician and former marketing science partner at Meta, specializing in data analysis and analytics around Facebook and Instagram. Polly was an instructor at General Assembly. Polly is a committee member of the International Data Science Olympiad and the Hong Kong AI Math Modelling Competition.
Angus is an assistant professor at the Technological and Higher Education Institute, specializing in AI and blockchain in society and work, habits of scientific thinking, and technology and the future of work. Angus is a member of the KBI Education Innovation Working Group.
Gabriel is the founder of the International Blockchain Olympiad and International Data Science Olympiad programs. Gabriel is a solutions architect for applying AI, blockchain, cryptography, and data science to cross-jurisdictional use cases. Gabriel specializes in financial (fintech) and education (edtech) infrastructures and applications.
Joyce was a finalist at the 2019 International Blockchain Olympiad with her proposal for decentralized and fair distribution of music. After an eye-opening experience and wishing to contribute to the ecosystem, Joyce joined the Education Program Team, with experience teaching blockchain solution design at the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education, Diocesan Girls' School, Heep Yunn School, and St. Mary's Canossian College, among others.
Kate is an IT project management professional at JP Morgan Chase (Hong Kong), formerly working the same role at United Overseas Bank. Kate is also the Director of Operations at KBI, as well as the Chairperson of the Joint Organizing Committee for the 2025 International Blockchain and Data Science Olympiads.
Yalsin is a Resident Doctor specializing in Ophthalmology at Hong Kong's Hospital Authority. He is also a software developer and a Scholar of The D. H. Chen Foundation. At HKU, Yalsin used AI for medical education and imaging. Yalsin built many hobby projects with AI, blockchain, cryptography, and data science. Yalsin oversees educational initiatives in blockchain and trust technologies at KBI.
Hannah was the silver medalist at the 2021 International Blockchain Olympiad with her proposal for decentralized loyalty program management on a permissioned distributed ledger. Hannah is now a Program Manager for a foundation researching decentralized autonomous organizations with affiliations with Animoca Brands.
Ilias was a finalist at the 2021 International Blockchain Olympiad. Ilias was a software engineer at JP Morgan Chase (HK) and previously a machine learning consultant specializing in natural language processing (NLP). Ilias also led the Google Student Developer Club at City University of Hong Kong. Ilias is now working on an AI startup.
Sakib was a finalist at the 2021 International Blockchain Olympiad and an exhibitor at the 2020 International Data Science Olympiad. Sakib was a software engineer at JP Morgan Chase (HK) and also led the Google Student Developer Club at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Sakib is now working on an AI startup.
Bijoy Sen is an AI entrepreneur providing services to early stage companies. Bijoy previously worked in Hong Kong and Canada in data science and software engineering roles. Bijoy was an external lead at the Google Student Developer Club at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Sophia was the gold medalist of the 2021 International Blockchain Olympiad (decentralized infrastructure for migrant workers) and was a founding member of the Diocesan Girls' Blockchain Club at her school (DGS). Sophia continued her blockchain engineering journey throughout high school and into college through developing applications for students. Sophia is a member of the KBI Education Innovation Working Group.
Nikkia was a finalist at the 2021 International Blockchain Olympiad (decentralized e-commerce) and a medalist at the 2022 International Blockchain Olympiad (decentralized peer-to-peer education services). Nikkia was a founding member of the Diocesan Girls' Blockchain Club at her school (DGS). Nikkia interned at SHK, Deloitte, and IBM. Nikkia won numerous case competitions, hosted by HSBC, HKSI, Swire, Airstar Bank, and Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).
Dominic was a finalist for the 2022 and 2023 International Blockchain Olympiad (TraderLedger for trade financing; LockChain for legal chain-of-custody) and the 2024 International Data Science Olympiad (HealthNutz for AI-powered Traditional Chinese Medicine). Dominic received early admission into HKU Medical School. Dominic interned at startups specializing in applied blockchain and machine learning.
